Murata Range

Born on October 2, 1968, in Osaka, with blood type AB, he is an illustrator. In 1993, he was responsible for the character illustrations of the fighting game Power Instinct. Since 1994, he has drawn illustrations for magazines such as Kairakuten and Ultra Jump, and participated in the character design for Power Instinct 2 and GROOVE ON FIGHT. In 1996, he resigned and became a freelance illustrator, publishing his first artbook LIKE A BALANCE LIFE. In 1999, he planned and edited the full-color comic magazine FLAT, which won the Chairman’s Award of the Japan Book Publishers Association at the 34th Book Design Competition. From 2001, he began working on illustration-to-figure projects, held the exhibition fa RANGE MURATA collection 001 in 2003, and released his second artbook futurhythm, winning further recognition. In 2006, he won the 37th Seiun Award (Art Category). Since 2013, he has been teaching at the Faculty of Manga at Kyoto Seika University and has published doujinshi at events such as Comic Market under the circle name PASTA'S ESTAB..
